Warwick John Norwood Ryan was born at Kingston in 1890, the eldest son of George Norwood Ryan, a shipbroker, and Isabella Ryan of "St John's" 26 Beaufort Road, Kingston. He was christened on the 23rd of July 1890 at St John's Church Kingston.

He was attached to No. 8 Company Imperial Camel Corps, served at Gallipoli; he was later killed in Egypt on the 5th of September, 1916 - aged 26 years.
