Harold Millard was born at Slough, the youngest son of the Reverend Frederick Millard BA, British Surbiton Chaplain at Le Havre and Martha Amelia Millard of Shrewsbury House, Ditton Hill.
At the start of the war he was a partner of Messrs. Donaldson and Burkinshaw, solicitors of Singapore. Despite his age, he left Singapore in November 1914 to join up. Served in Gallipoli and France. He was killed at Sains-en-Gohelle in France on the 11th of April, 1917 - aged 42 years.
