Information:

Thomas Ronald Brown was born at Kingston in 1897, the son of Samuel Brown and Alice Kate Brown of "Trevena", 24 Manorgate Road, Kingston-on-Thames.

 

At Shrewsbury House, he was talented academically. He was awarded Honours by the school in 1910 and was also a good swimmer, winning the Kenneth Challenge Cup for Swimming in 1909. He was also part of the team which won the St David Shield Shooting competition in 1910 (See picture below) and was also a school Captain in the same year.

 

From Shrewsbury House, Thomas attended Eton as a King's Scholar, from 1911 to 1915.  He then went to Magdalene College, Cambridge.

 

He served in France from the 29th of February 1916 and was seriously wounded and honourably discharged from the army in 1918. He died in 1921. Thomas was the brother of Francis Wrentmore Brown, who was killed in 1916.
