Geoffrey Herbert Blackett was born at Marylebone on the 23rd of June 1893, the second son of Herbert Walter Blackett and Emelie (née Dulin) Blackett of 57 Cranes Park Road, Surbiton.
He was awarded Honours at Shrewsbury House Preparatory School in 1908 (see picture below). After Shrewsbury House, he attended Dover College.
During the war, he served as a Staff Captain in France and the Italian campaign in 1918. He was awarded the Military Cross in 1919.
After the war he married Enid (née Moore) on the 3rd of June, 1922. They has two children, Elizabeth Nay, born in 1925 and Anne.
During the Second World War, he served in the Royal Army Service Corps.
He died of a short illness on the 18th of November, 1977.
